Matthew Carcano is a seasoned litigator and department head, overseeing a team of attorneys and paralegals. With a proven track record of success in complex commercial disputes, Matthew has successfully represented clients in a wide range of business disputes across various industries.
As the head of the litigation department, Matthew is responsible for managing a diverse caseload, including pre-suit investigation, negotiation, discovery, trial, appeal, and post-judgment enforcement. He oversees the strategic direction of cases, delegating tasks, and ensuring efficient and effective representation of clients.
Matthew has successfully argued cases before state judges, the Florida District Courts of Appeal, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and various arbitration tribunals. He has also appeared in jurisdictions such as Texas, Georgia, New York, and Delaware, collaborating seamlessly with local counsel.
His ability to navigate complex legal issues, craft compelling written and oral arguments, and effectively present cases to juries, judges, and arbitration panels has earned him a reputation as a formidable advocate. Matthew is particularly adept at handling matters involving unique procedural rules, substantive laws, federal rules and statutes, and arbitration rules and procedures.

Before joining Saltiel Law Group, Matthew gained valuable experience, managing a broad caseload involving business, real estate, civil rights, and appellate litigation. In this role, he was responsible for drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, as well as managing client relationships and litigation strategies.
Matthew earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law, where he received several accolades, including being named “Best Advocate” in the Moot Court Intramural Competition. He served as Senior Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review and was an active member of the Moot Court Board and the Federal Bar Association.
Fluent in Spanish, Matthew bridges the gap between Latin American clients and the U.S. legal system, ensuring clear communication and effective representation in cross-border disputes.
Outside of his legal practice, Matthew is passionate about mentoring future legal professionals. He served as an Active Learning Instructor at St. Thomas University, helping first-year law students with strategies for success.
