Saltiel Law Group Secures Favorable Settlement in Complex Commercial Lending Dispute

Coral Gables, FL March 15, 2025 Saltiel Law Group successfully represented a medical practice in a commercial lending dispute against a national bank, securing a highly favorable settlement that reduced the bank’s claim by approximately 17%.

The bank had filed a lawsuit seeking repayment on a business line of credit it claimed had been converted into a term loan. Saltiel Law Group, led by litigation Associate Hubert “Hubie” Menendez, challenged the validity of the loan conversion process and identified deficiencies in the bank’s default notification. The firm successfully opposed the bank’s motion for summary judgment while simultaneously engaging in strategic settlement negotiations.

Through strategic legal advocacy, Saltiel Law Group obtained a lump sum settlement that mitigated the risk of an adverse judgment against both the business and the personal guarantor. The agreement preserved the clients’ credit standing and allowed them to continue operating their medical practice without disruption. By securing a one-time payment instead of the bank’s proposed structure—which included a large upfront payment and ongoing monthly installments—the firm eliminated the risk of future default and provided full closure for the clients.

“This case demonstrates our ability to leverage litigation defenses as powerful negotiation tools while keeping a strong focus on achieving practical business solutions for our clients. Our goal is not just to resolve disputes, but to secure real-world solutions that allow our clients to thrive,” said Hubert “Hubie” Menendez, Associate at Saltiel Law Group.

Saltiel Law Group remains committed to protecting the financial stability of its clients by crafting tailored legal strategies that balance effective litigation with practical business resolutions.
